Caroline Wettergreen
Caroline Wettergreen hails from Bergen, Norway, and is now one of the most significant coloratura sopranos of her generation. In 2023/24, her roles include La Fée in "Cendrillon" and Leticia Meynar in "The Exterminating Angel" at the Paris Opera, as well as Queen of the Night in "Die Zauberflöte" at the Bavarian State Opera. Recently, she performed in Munich (as Blonde in "Die Entführung aus dem Serail," Princess in Abrahamsen's "The Snow Queen," Ophelia in Brett Dean's "Hamlet," Gretel in "Hänsel und Gretel," Nightingale in Braunfels' "Die Vögel"), in Paris, at the Berlin State Opera (Queen of the Night), at the Royal Opera House in London (Queen of the Night), at the Glyndebourne Festival (La Fée, Queen of the Night), at the Royal Danish Opera (Oscar in "Un ballo in maschera"), at the Norwegian National Opera (Gilda in "Rigoletto"), and with the Canadian Opera Company. Caroline Wettergreen studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen. She made her debut at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet in "Lulu." Future performances include Olympia in "Les Contes d'Hoffmann" in Hamburg and Hermione in "Orest" in Copenhagen.
